Mini-Game Easter Egg

To get to it, simply start the game, click credits icon.
Change the credits display from text, to photos at the top,
then when you see a photo start to click on them over and
over until they stop, and you will enter a minigame called
"Click the photo". A photo will pop up somewhere on the
grid of someone in the photos, and you must click on them
as fast as you can to score points. The minigame keeps high
score, so you can always come back and flash your record to
your friends.

Tip 1:

Truly worthwhile shortcuts are few and far between.
If winning is your priority, spend your time perfecting
racing lines on the track and stay clear of reckless
opponents.
Tip 2:
------
It takes some time to get in the distinctive Need for Speed
groove. This is especially important for multiplayer games.
You may leave the game overnight after a long and successful
stint only to come back in the morning and play like a rookie.
Play the game for at least half an hour before attempting any
multiplayer High Stakes duel, where losing the game means
losing your car.
Tip 3:
------
Successful High Stakes cornering is a specialized discipline.
You really shouldn't worry about slowing well in advance of a
turn.
Instead, go in fairly hot, hit the brakes with extreme force for
just a moment or two while you begin to crank the wheel, and get
right back on throttle again and power out.
Tip 4:
------
High Stakes cars respond well to torque. In other words, really
work that gearshift to keep engine RPM in the optimum range--just
over the redline. If you select an automatic tranny you will feel
the ignominy of last place.
Tip 5:
------
Take a car with good grip and snappy handling over a high-speed
monster any day. Of course, a top-of-the-line McLaren with full
upgrades is always preferable to a stock Firebird.
But if money is an issue, you can feel safe with a nicely upgraded
B-level model in a field of A-level cars, especially on the more
technical circuits.
Tip 6:
------
Fog, tire smoke, and dirt clouds can obliterate vision and slow
the frame rate. Switch them off.

Hint 1:

NHL 2000 rewards skilled passing with opportunities and
goals. Work on the one-time pass.
Hint 2:

One of the best defensive techniques involves mowing down
anything you see. In the Game Rules menu, set the penalty
slider low, then go after any player. If you miss the puck
carrier, take out one of his cohorts before you switch
control to another player.
Hint 3:
-------
On defense, remember that you are extremely vulnerable to
rebounds. Sure, the other guys will get their fair share of
breakaways (though you should try to eliminate them, too),
but an open man with a rebound is very dangerous indeed.
In short, ensure that any player standing in front of your
net, even if he has already shot, gets bounced.
Hint 4:
-------
One of the most wicked weapons you have in your arsenal is the
deflection. Send your winger at fast speed into an offensive
corner, then twirl him back toward the blue line; this gives
your two linemates time to get themselves in front of the
opponent's net. You'll next want to hit the Pass button while
pointing your player toward the net with the D-pad, then depress
the Shoot button just before the puck has reached your teammate.
The resulting change of direction can fool even the best goaltender.
Hint 5:

Dekes are back! The NHL series has once again put a premium on
slick stickhandling as you're coming in on the goal.
A skilled player such as Pavel Bure or Joe Sakic will capitalize
on breakaways with a move to the right, then a move to the left
(or vice versa), and a quick shot to the open side.

This will give you unlimited missile weapons for
the price of 1 each:
First buy a ship with 2 missile bays. Then choose a missile you
want, and buy it (note you must only have 1 of the missiles in
your holding for this to work) Select the missile by pressing
BOTH mouse buttons at the same time, as if you were loading 2 of
your missile bays at the same exact time. If you do this right,
you will have 2 missles of the same on your ship, and still one

Tip 1

The most effective way to move your troops and exploit
any weaknesses in the enemy's position is to use the
chain of command. Start by selecting your army commander,
expending all but one of his available initiative points.
Next, locate a subordinate corps commander and follow the
same directions. Finally, locate a subordinate division
commander within the corps, making sure to expend all of
his initiative points before you finally end your turn.
Tip 2
-----
To get the most out of your cavalry, order them to dismount
prior to combat. During the American Civil War, mounted
cavalry was rarely ordered into battle as they were very
susceptible to massed infantry attacks, especially when
they were attacking troops armed with repeating rifles.
