What is Olympic Aid? Olympic Aid is an athlete-driven, humanitarian initiative delivering sport and play programs to children living in situations of disadvantage around the world. We support every child's right to play. Every child should be allowed to be a child. What does Olympic Aid do? Developing and implementing sustainable and inclusive programs of play for children living in situations of disavantage, including children affected by war and armed conflict, poverty, disease and discrimination. - Developing research and policy in support of every child's right to play. - Raising awareness of the rights of children living in situations of disadvantage. - Raising funds for children living ins situations of disadvantage What is Coach2Coach? Coach2Coach is Olympic Aid's primary program. Teams of volunteer coaches travel to refugee camps to deliver sport and play to children. The program involves: - Implementing sport and play programs for children and youth. - Recruting and training local volunteers to become coaches - Working with local leaders and youth to create Sport Councils that promote both community development and sport programming How does the Youth Panel help Olympic Aid? The promoters of the Youth Panel raise funds in their countries for Olympic Aid. There are many ways to raise funds, for ideas please email Steven Cachia at ccachia@itt.net.mt. The deadline for raising funds is the World Hockey Day (October 26, 2002), so get involved! We need everyone's help because "every child has the rigth to play".
