NWA-TNA
* It was a historic night of truly Non-Stop Action on NWA:TNA as two new champions were crowned during a night of action that will soon not be forgotten. Two of the true breakout stars of NWA:TNA, Ron "The Truth" Killings and Low-Ki walked away with the NWA World Heavyweight Title and the X-Division Championship, respectively.
* The show began with Goldy, the Dupps and Apolo all looking for an audience with a very busy NWA Representative in Ricky Steamboat.
* In the ring, high flying action was the order of the day, and the Flying Elvises took on the SAT (Spanish Announce Team) of the Amazing Red and Jose & Joel Maximo. Sonny Siaki, showing his arrogance, refused to tag out to partners Yang & Estrada for a good portion of the match. Yang and Estrada were relegated to the announce table, where they expressed their displeasure, in song, at Siaki's attitude. Sonny became the victim of his self-imposed one-on-three disadvantage, and was caught in the spectacular Spanish Fly backflip, followed by the InfraRed. Yang & Estrada saved Siaki, and set up Red for a pinfall with a simultaneous splash and legdrop from opposite top turnbuckles. Ironically, it was Siaki who then crawled over for the pin while Yang & Estrada posed in the ring.
* We saw a pre-recorded interview with Apolo, where he outright accused Ricky Steamboat of taking away his opportunity to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion by giving a title shot to Ron "The Truth" Killings instead of him.
* Backstage, Apolo was unable to get a word with Steamboat, while AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn had to be separated when the two began brawling in the locker room. Steamboat headed to ringside to witness the NWA World Heavyweight Title match, but the Dupp Brothers kept pestering him. Steamboat finally told them to do whatever they wanted, as long as they left him alone.
* NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ken Shamrock then defended his title against Ron "The Truth" Killings. It was a classic battle of submissions vs. speed, as each man played to his strength. Every time Shamrock went for a tap out, the Truth was able to make it to the ropes. Malice, Slash and James Mitchell appeared on the top stage to watch the action, and head of security Don Harris sat at ringside to keep them at bay. The Alpha Male, Monty Brown, also appeared on the other side of the stage. Eventually, Shamrock and Truth brawled at ringside, when a frustrated Apolo ran to ringside. Malice, Slash, Brown and Harris soon joined in, and there was a full fledged brawl at ringside. Apolo went to superkick The Truth, but missed a caught Shamrock. Ricky Steamboat shoved Shamrock into the ring to continue the match, while clearing ringside of everyone else. With Shamrock still dazed from the superkick, The Truth applied the "Truth or Consequences" stunner to Shamrock and got the pinfall. Ron "The Truth" Killings is the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion!
* Ricky Steamboat called out Apolo, and admitted he deserved a title shot, but that Apolo acting like a maniac was not the way to get it. Steamboat said he would give Apolo his chance at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Jeff Jarrett interrupted, and claimed "reverse discrimination" being the reason he did not get a title shot. Steamboat declared that the "bullsh*t stops here tonight" and that Apolo would wrestle Jeff Jarrett, and appointed himself the special referee. Steamboat said if Apolo wins, he gets his title shot. He also said if Jarrett wins, then he would "get the Truth".
* Disco Inferno came out to host "Jive Talkin'" and interview the Dupps. The Dupps, holding a spittoon, announced the "Dupp Cup Invitational", a hardcore division where the winner would get their "Cup" as well as the chance to spend the night with Fluff Dupp (with them watching, of course). The matches are to be conducted on a 10 point system, with points earned from chairshots, throwing people through a table, and even for goosing a male or female. Ed Ferrara tried to step up to the challenge, but was chokeslammed through a table at the end of one of the most bizarre matches in wrestling history, losing ten and a half points to five and a half points in the end.
* We saw the Alpha Male, Monty Brown, talking with Mike Tenay earlier today about his athletic background, and his recent problems with The Truth. Elix Skipper ran in and attacked Brown, saying he knew nothing about where he and Ron Killings came from. Elix painted Brown yellow, and called him a "chicken" as he left the Alpha Male laying.
* A brutal First Blood match was next, as Malice, with James Mitchell, took on the head of security, Don Harris. The two behemoths brawled, literally, all over the TNA Arena. Slash attempted to help his fellow Disciple of the New Church, but it backfired, as Harris bloodied him with a spike that Slash had introduced to the proceedings. James Mitchell even tried to get involved, and has his own Ark overturned on him, spilling blood all over the leader of the New Church. In the ring, Harris went for a sideslam on Malice, but their heads collided, opening a gash on Harris, and ending the match, since he was the first participant to bleed. The New Church continued their attack after the bell, leaving Heavy D laying in a pool of his own blood.
* Goldy was preparing to interview Taylor Vaughn, when Sonny Siaki came by, and informed us that he was looking for Ricky Steamboat. Suddenly Bruce grabbed the microphone and stormed the women's dressing room. Taylor took offense to the intrusion, and roughed up Bruce, before the current Miss TNA suggested they settle their differences in an evening gown match. Taylor agreed, and Bruce left, as AJ Styles and Low Ki broke down the door as the two X-Division standouts were engaged in a fierce brawl that security finally broke up.
* The next match featured one of the most physical encounters in the brief history of NWA:TNA, as Apolo and Jeff Jarrett battled it out with Ricky Steamboat as the referee. Steamboat tried to keep the match within the rules, but it was next to impossible as Apolo and Jarrett tore into one another. After a brutal battle, which saw Apolo busted open and bloodied, the Puerto Rican sensation hit his patented superkick and appeared to have the match won. However, Jarrett got his foot on the bottom rope before the three count, and the match continued. Apolo went for a German suplex, but his own shoulders were down on the mat as he bridged Jarrett into a pinning position. Jarrett got his shoulder off the mat, while Apolo's were still down. Apolo essentially pinned himself, his first ever defeat in NWA:TNA, and Jarrett claimed the victory. Apolo was enraged, and Steamboat had to order security to escort Apolo in the back. Then, Steamboat turned the tables on Jarrett, reminding him that he said Jarrett would get "The Truth" if he won. Jarrett assumed that meant a title shot. Instead, Steamboat informed him that he would team with The Truth and would get a shot at AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Jarrett was not happy at all.
* The Evening Gown for the coveted Miss TNA title was next. Taylor looked beautiful in a black evening gown, while Bruce looked, well, he looked unique, in red. Taylor tried, but was hopelessly overmatched by Bruce, who quickly finished her off with a suplex and face first powerbomb. He then gingerly removed her dress, revealing her black bra, panties and garter belt to the crowd. Bruce, then wanting to "please" the crowd, stripped down to his own thong and garter belt!
* Don West reminded all the fans about the great selection of merchandise available right here at NWATNA.com!
* The final bout of the evening was an incredible Three Way Match for the X-Division Title between champion AJ Styles, Low Ki and Jerry Lynn. Words cannot do justice to the incredible pace these three men kept in the ring, literally emptying their arsenals in an attempt to defeat each other. Every time victory appeared to be within reach for one of the wrestlers, another would cut him off. Low Ki shocked the crowd by putting AJ in his own Styles Clash, but then Jerry lynn put Low Ki in a Ki Krusher! Not to be left out, Styles gave Lynn his own finisher, the cradle piledriver! Towards the end, Low Ki accidentally kicked the referee, then was backdropped to the floor by Styles and Lynn. AJ, taking advantage of the referee being down, blasted Lynn with a chair to the head. Styles then climbed to the top rope, while Low Ki crawled into the ring and covered Lynn. One. Styles leaped from the top rope for the Spiral Tap. Two. Styles landed on top of Low Ki and Lynn, but Low Ki was still on top, covering Lynn. So, Low Ki scored the pinfall and is the new X Division Champion!
* The match was over, but Styles and Lynn had unfinished business and began brawling. Meanwhile, in the back, Jeff Jarrett was demanding a title shot from Ron Killings, and the two, with security trying to separate them, headed to the ring. While Styles and Lynn brawled on the floor, Jarrett and the Truth continued to shout challenges and threats at each other. Ironically, there two sides will be paired together next week when Styles & Lynn defend the NWA World Tag Team Championship against Jarrett & The Truth!
