Lag Tricks
So
now you know what lag is. But how can we make lag good for us? To learn
how to manipulate lag, we must first learn when lag is caused in a regular
duel.
Towards the end of this flashing, the game calculates all the junk to decide what effect the spell (or attack) will take on the person. That includes damage, whether it misses, and etc. So at this point, towards the end of the flashing, a little bit of lag happens. There is a way to manipulate this lag. But how do you know if you manipulate it or not?
You'll notice, when you attack someone with a spell or weapon, the little cursor goes away right after you attack them. After a little while, or if they attack you back, you'll notice you get the cursor back. The game was programmed this way to make battles turn for turn. But if we use that lag we talked about before, we can trick the game to give us an extra turn.
In this next video, you'll notice me attacking another player. Before I attack, I have my yellow cursor. But after I attack, the cursor comes right back! That means, I now have a double, or extra turn. How did this happen? I'll explain below.
Extra Turn/Cursor after Casting
If you attack or use a spell on someone right towards the end of the flashing, sometimes, if you time it right, you get an extra cursor. Therefore, you have an extra turn. By hitting/using a spell while that little lag is happening, you manipulate the lag. And that's how we can lag trick.
What is a lag trick then? A lag trick is when you manipulate that lag towards the end of the flashing by hitting or casting a spell, and get your cursor back. Then before you actually do any damage or effect to the other player, you switch to a different thing, like from spell to attack, or from one spell to another. Then, with the new spell/attack, use it on your opponent before the first spell or attack hits them. This takes good timing and lots of practice to get good at it, but with time, you can get very good at it. Watch the video below to see a lag trick, and read the text above it as it walks you through the lag trick.
Now it's time to try and see if you can do all this stuff. So don't hesitate, go out and practice with friends and get your skills up. Or, if you would rather practice first before you go try, I have some great videos to help you practice the skills you need to lag trick.
PRACTICE VIDEOS
Use this video to learn how to manipulate lag by hitting the person right towards the end of their flashing. A great practice video to use.
