Elmindreda Farshaw

Elmindreda Farshaw, or Min, grew up in the Andoran town of Baerlon.  Baerlon is a fairly rough town, filled

with the men who make their livings off the rich mines in the Mountains of Mist.  Thus, Min grew up playing with boys, and still wears the boys’ breeches, shirts, and coats that she grew accustomed to.

Min has a special ability, which greatly interests the Aes Sedai who know of it.  She sees auras, or images, around various people.  She sees them primarily around Aes Sedai and Warders, though sometimes an ordinary person has an aura as well.  What she sees, she knows will come true.  She does not always understand what she sees, but one can be certain that the things she sees will happen.

It was in her hometown of Baerlon that she first met Rand al’Thor.  She was amazed at the number of images which surrounded Rand, though few of them made much sense to her.

One of these images was very easy to understand, however.  This viewing revealed that three women would fall in love with him.  Min was certainly shocked to realize that she was one of the three.  She is good friends with one of the others - Elayne Trakand ; most likely she will get along well with the third, an Aiel woman named Aviendha.

As time progressed, she did in fact fall in love with Rand.  She set about using her abilities to help him in any way possible.  Min’s viewings sometimes helped Rand in his dealing with both Aes Sedai and the Aiel Wise Ones.

Few people know of what Min can do.  Several Aes Sedai with the knowledge have attempted to learn how she does this, but Min barely understands it herself.  Her talent has also gained her a certain respect with the Aiel Wise Ones, who treat he as an equal.

Min has more or less accepted the fact that she will share Rand with two other women.  Her skills have been a great help to Rand as he struggles to fight the Shadow.  And her presence is one of the few things which can still bring joy to the face of the Dragon Reborn.
