History/Origins:
-
The Aiel were originally known as the Da'shain Aiel (Children of the Dragon) in service to the Dragon Aes Sedai during the Age of Legends. The Cadin'sor were work clothes for the fields. Along with the Ogier and the Nym some of the Aiel would sing growing songs for the crops. The Way of the Leaf (The Covenant) was followed devoutly. At the time of the Breaking, they were put in charge of certain objects of the One Power and chora cuttings (Tree of Life cuttings). They were to keep moving until a place of safety could be found. (Ten Thousand Aiel at Tzora linked arms, giving up their lives to allow people a way of escape as Jaric Mondoran went mad. He killed them as they sang trying to remind him of who he was.) A group split off in search of a song, but still following The Way of The Leaf. This group became the Lost Ones (Tinkers). Due to circumstances with "outsiders" raiding and the like, some of the Aiel "took up the spear" in self defense, only to be cast out by the Jenn Aiel (Only True Aiel). For a time this group took it upon themselves to follow and protect the Jenn Aiel. Eventually, societies and Clans developed.
-
The Jenn Aiel followed the Way of the Leaf and were seeking a safe place to plant the three Trees of Life they were in charge of, and a place to store the Aes Sedai things left in their care.
-
After the Breaking, only the Cairhien would give water, created the pact of Sharing Water which was later broken by Laman.
-
Aiel War was only 4 of the 13 clans.
Prophecies:
-
He Who Comes With The Dawn
-

-
People of the Dragon
-

-
"Blood of our blood mixed with the old blood, raised by an ancient blood not ours."
-
If they ever fail the Aes Sedai again, then the Aes Sedai will slay them.
