Here is some Information on B'Elanna Torres

B'Elanna is half-human and half-klingon. Her mother was Klingon and tried to teach her the ways of the Klingon, but B'Elanna rebelled against many of the Klingon beliefs. Her father, a human Starfleet officer, left her mother when B'Elanna was five, and she moved with her mother to Qo'nos, the Klingon Homeworld. She is intelligent, and has strong engineering skills. Due to her Klingon origin she has a hard time controlling her temper and she can be very aggressive, which is why she dropped out of Starfleet Academy during her second year. She joined the Maquis and served as Chakotay's engineer. When the Maquis ship was destroyed by the Caretaker, she became the Chief Engineer aboard the U.S.S. Voyager, with a field promotion to Lieutenant-junior grade.B'Elanna first met Tom Paris when she boarded Voyager and she did not like him. Even though Tom tried to win B'Elanna over romantically for several years, it took her three years to admit her love for him. They got married during their seventh year at Voyager and they have a daughter named after B'Elanna's mother Miral.
