TESTAMENT
Hebrews 2: 15
that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is,
the devil-and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear
of death
Hebrews 9: 15-17
15For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are
called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a
ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
16In the case of a will,[1] it is necessary to prove the death of the one who
made it, 17because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never
takes effect while the one who made it is living.
His "Last Will & Testament"
Requirements for a Testament:
** The Death of the Testator Req'd to come into the Inheritance
** It must be executed according to the Mind of the One who
made it
(it is subject to alteration during the lifetime of the testator)
** A Testament is an absolute unconditional grant made-no conditions
(for us: kingdom of heaven, Ephesians 1!)
** the Testator assigns the time when the heirs are admitted into the
possession
(i.e., only God knows when we enter
both: grace, glory)
