TEMPTATION:

§ Temptation …….. Sin

§ “It is Legal, It is Limited” I Cor 10:13

§ “Unguarded Strength is Double Weakness”

§ He is the “God of the YES,” not the “NO”

§ Satan especially loves to tempt us by pushing us in “good areas” beyond the boundaries of the will of God (extremes—but subtly!)

§ *“The power of temptation is directly related to the strength of the mental strongholds and the carnal desires which were developed in us when we lived independently of GOD.” ( NA)

§ The three main channels thru which Satan tempts are:

*Lust of Eyes (draws us from will of God)

* Lust of Flesh (draws us from Word of God)

* Pride of Life (draws us from Worship of God)

THE GREATEST RESPONSE TO THE LIES OF THE ENEMYIS TO KNOW WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST: i.e., “DEAD TO THAT!”

STRONGHOLDS/IDOLATRY

Primary Battlefield: MIND

· 2 Main Weapons: The WORD and PRAYER(*)

· Key Verse: “For we have Divine Power (Gr: dunamis!) to demolish strongholds, and to take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

· (1)Stronghold (def:) great areas of temptation/struggle/failure..(yes, for believers, too!)

“anything that steals, kills, or destroys the abundant life for the believer is a stronghold of the enemy”

“Virtually every stronghold involves the worship of some kind of idol”

* an idol is anything/idea/practice/person that fills a place in your life that God intends that He will fill

* anything you “cannot live without”

· (2)Taking thoughts captive(def): Choosing to think GOD’S THOUGHTS about any situation/struggle

*( this is why PRAYING SCRIPTURE is most effective tool of all!
