Organizational meeting - Women On Wheels
April 24, 1999
The initial meeting of our new (yet unnamed and unchartered chapter) of Women on Wheels was held today, Saturday , April 24 at Keif's Reef in Burton Bridge, IL. The kind proprietor , Randy ,and his gracious bartender , Kim, welcomed us with open arms and has consented to allow us to meet once a month at Keif's Reef located at 3505 S. Wright in Burtons Bridge off of Route 176. Not many showed up at our first meeting , but what we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality. The ladies present were: Betty Bachorek, Sue McDonald , Suzanne Palm and Lynda DiGregor. Char Gordon showed up sometime later and we grabbed an unsuspecting , Kathy Swire out of her car in the parking lot and loaded her down with a bunch of paper work. Besides deciding on a monthly meeting time and place, we discussed upcoming rides and things we would like to do as a chapter. We had two Women On Wheels members and three soon to be members. We discussed the benefits and the purpose of Women On Wheels . We were able to find out a little about each other and had a generally good chat. After the meeting broke up Char rode in on her newly aquired Kawasaki. Suzanne and I were able to get to know her a bit before we left. Check out pictures of the women that attended this intial meeting on the photo pages. |
