April 2000 meeting
April meeting

After the meeting in Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva
Meeting of March 18, 2000

April Meeting was attended by Lynda DiGregor, Suzanne Palm, Sue McDonald, Maureen Shreeves, Maxine Smith, Lynn Dahlman, and another newcomer, Cynthia Carroll, Welcome Cynthia.
We continue to grow

The meeting began around 11:00

Topics of Discussion:

  1. Charity Run
  2. Membership developement and Summer meeting time
  3. Patches
  4. Vests
  5. WOW mileage contest
  6. Upcoming Events

Charity Run

It was decided that as our group is so new, inexperienced and small in number, that it would be best to postpone hosting a run until next summer. Instead we will work on increasing our membership and laying the groundwork for a run in 2001

Membership Development

In order to build membership it was decided to have rides after each monthly meeting. We will promote each ride in advance by flyer distribution, the internet, and by personal invitation.

To make more time for meetings and rides, we will change our summer meeting time to 9AM at Keif's Reef. We will start rides by 10 AM at the latest.
Since Keif's Reef doesn't open until 11 AM we will have to meet outside. If the arrangement doesn't work out we will have to find another location to meet.

Our May ride will be to Cederburg, WI. Shopping and lunch. Maureen will be the ride coordinator for Cederburg.

The June ride will be to Palmyra, WI. Pizza and Custard and JoJo's. The ride has already been mapped out by Marge. Great job! Thanks Marge.

Upcoming Events

Debby Krause has set up a "Gamblin' Ride" to Ho Chunk casino for Sunday, June 11th. Copies of the schedule and route to the casino were distributed. Please RSVP Lynda or Debby Rain date TBD on June 11, 2000.

New Red Hawk Riders Patch

Marge found Eastern Emblem Mfg. Corp. This is the best price found. We had questions about a setup fee and digitizing. I'm happy to report there is no setup fee and no digitizing. The company only needs a picture of the patch. We pay for the patches and the shipping fee.
Our total cost for 100- 3 inch patches @ $1.59 ea. would be $171.00 and for 50 - 3 inch patches @ $2.85 ea. $151.50.
I have requested another catalog and a sample patch.

Vests

A vest was made but rejected. It was decided that the membership would keep an eye out for a suitable vest at an acceptable price. If anyone finds something, please let us know ASAP.
