Organizational meeting - Women On Wheels
June 19, 1999
The third meeting of our new unchartered chapter of Women on Wheels was held today, Saturday , June 19th, 1999 . The meeting location was a little different this month. We all met at Keif's Reef but after we were assembled we took off to join in the festivities in Genoa, Illinois. Genoa is a small town in Illinois that holds a yearly community festivity known as Genoa Days. It is all very small town and lots of laid back fun. We were invited to participate by Kerry , a friend of Lynda and Ralph. After the parade and lots of good eats we held our meeting. We chose a name for our chapter. We decided on Illinois Red Hawk Riders. Red Tailed Hawks are many in number in our part of Illinois and they are certainly a symbol of free flight. If that is not accepted by Women On Wheels then we submitted Illinois Prairie Riders as our second choice. We also chose our officers.
Our next meeting will be Saturday July 17th at Keifs Reef (See the front page for details). Be sure to check out the pictures taken at this meeting. |
Still looking forward to the Bikers Against Cancer on August 22, 1999 . It is a 100 mile observation run with a poker hand at the end . See the events page for details. |
