The
world has not been clear enough world has not been clear enough on the question: "Who
we are?" or What is
TPN? They knew from what Indonesia told them that: (WHAT
TPN IS NOT)
- TPN is a terrorist organisation, terrorising
Indonesians and Papuans, anyone doing good in West Papua, i.e.,
development. Or TPN is a terrorist organisation that terrorises the
development activities in West Papua.
- TPN is a separatist organisation, therefore Mathias
Wenda and his followers are separatists and they have to be
destroyed.
- TPN hasn't got strong support from all Papuans, they
are only a handful of people, fighting because of personal reasons,
not for the whole Papua.
- TPN members are trouble-makers.
- TPN is an outlawed organisation that cannot exist on
this planet, because it does not have a place here.
- TPN is factional, not well-organised, not
well-managed, not well-equipped, not well-educated, etc., you name it.
- TPN is fighting because of their frustration upon the
development plans and activities carried out by previous government
which did not meet the needs of the people. It is a reaction due to frustration,
not really a struggle for independence, when we give them more money,
they will shut up.
- TPN members are Indonesian people, but they have a
different ideology, but we can sort out in Indonesian way (i.e., kill
them until they are completely wiped out from West Papua). It is an
internal affair, therefore, international community should not worry
about how we sort out things in West Papua. We can deal with them,
easily and systematically.
- TPN's is not actually independence, but they are fighting for a
better life, more roads, more modern houses, more governors, more
regents, more educated Papuans, more universities, more schools, etc.
WHAT TPN ACTUALLY IS: (According to the
fact)
- TPN is a single organisation, fighting against
'state-terrorism' carried out by Indonesian government, police and
army; -backed mainly by two modern nations: the USA and Britain.
- TPN does not believe on the term
"separatist" as it is against the law of nature and against
the law of God. God created us separately as a people and as a
country. Papuans are separate from Indonesians, Americans are
far away from Australians, West Papua land is separate from Indonesian
land. Europe is different from America. White is different from
chocolate, long is different from short. We speak different languages,
behave differently in our manners, and we live separately as peoples
and as countries. Therefore, we believe that, "God
The Father/Mother and the Creator is the Father/Mother of Separatism,
as S/He Created us differently and separately!" What we
are demanding is not something different from what is already
separated by the Father/Mother of Separatism, i.e., the fact that we
are different, separate and therefore, we should be so, forever. However,
we do not deny the fact that we should live together in this global
village, but as long as we acknowledge and respect our existence as
separate and different peoples and countries; -this is called human
right in essence.
- TPN members and supporters are 99.99% of Papuans, not
a handful of people as Indonesia says. Almost all Papuans want
independence, and TPN stands for their wish to be so, without them,
TPN will never exist. It is from the Papuans, by the Papuans and
for the Papuans.
- TPN supporters are not only men, but all of them
(young, old, men, women, children, disabled, died and alive, plants,
animals, land, air and water), all support TPN's work towards its
targets and goal.
- TPN fights against troubles in Papua Land caused by
Indonesian government, police and army so that West Papua as a land
and as a people can life in peace and harmony with all beings, just
like it was before colonial era.
- TPN protects Papua as a Land and as a People from
troubles caused by foreign powers. The troubles come to Papua in
various forms: cutting off the forests (our homes), making mountains
become valleys (out mothers), building more houses and roads (without
our consent), setting up transmigration settlements (by pushing us
away from our land and without respect to our existence), raping our
girls (putting batteries into the vaginas of our women, raping our
teenagers, etc.), and brutally arrest, kidnap, and murder Papuans on
daily basis. Thom Beanal used to say in an interview with Reuters:
"We are killed every day, every time: morning, afternoon,
evening, night, 24 hours, 7 days, 4 weeks, 12 months." These
are obviously what we call the "troubles!" and TPN fights
against these all.
- TPN is formally accepted by the Papuans in Papua term
and for Papua's future. It is a formal organisation in Papua context.
TPN was set up to follow up the formal announcement and legal approval
by the Dutch Government on December 1, 1961 that West Papua is a
country, with Papua as its nation, "Hai Tanahku Papua" as
the National Anthem, "The Morning Star" as the country's
Flag, and "Burung Mambruk" as the symbol or logo of the
people. TPN fights to force the Dutch, Indonesia and U.N. to re-visit
this law and to judge whether Indonesia's existence in West Papua is
illegal or TPN is illegal in Papua land.
- TPN does not apply a modern system of military
organisation management, but it works on the basis of Tribal System of
Leadership, where each tribe has their own commanders, more or less
they act independently, but at the same time, they officially
recognise the organisational structure. It is not a factional
organisation, which has a meaning that TPN commanders are factions
with different ideologies and goals. This is untrue. Even though they
have differing approaches, short-term targets and movements, all TPN
commanders work toward an independent West Papua.
- No one can stop TPN's activities. TPN's view is that
giving more money, building more roads, settling more transmigrants,
building more schools, go hand in hand with killing more people,
killing more animals, destroying more habitats with ecology and
ecosystem and finally wiping out West Papua from the world's map as
the land of the Papuans, just like what successfully happened in North
America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and almost Papua New Guinea.
- TPN views that diving up the Province into three
means setting up more army and police commanders. Three commanders for
only 1.5 million people is the same as 'the biggest social engineering
programme even in human history until today.' The more Indonesia
divides the territory into small pieces, the more they will drop the
army, police, government officials, and this means they will more successfully
and faster wipe out the Papuans.
- Even though we are seen as not well-educate, not
well-organised, etc., we know that we are fighting with what we have
from our ancestors, i.e., bows, arrows and spears. These are our
heritages, and we want to use them to wipe out colonialism from our
land. There will be time, when Papuans will say to the world, "We
are taking up modern weapons, and let us play the game!" but not
now, of course.
- TPN is not fighting due to frustration, but it is
purely based on the people's wish for an independent West Papua. No
matter what Indonesia can give to West Papua, the aspiration for
independence will be there, in the hearts, flesh, blood and mind of
all Papuans, UNTIL finally West Papua is independent.
- TPN members are not Indonesians. Indonesians are
ethnically Malays, and Papuans are ethnically Melanesians. Melanesians
cannot be and will never be Indonesians, whenever, whatsoever.
