The Radio Scanner Web Ring is for Webmasters of web pages related to the radio scanner community to provide a means to link together all the various pages. There are several lists of scanner related pages on the Internet (ALL EXCELLENT SITES!), but you have to find these sites first.
Now you can get to all of these sites from one place!
By going through the "ring" you will be able to cycle through all the scanner related sites on the Internet.
Whats a WebRing? Check out the WebRing Homepage for complete details on how a WebRing works.
A Web Ring is not a search engine, or index page of web pages like Yahoo!, Alta-Vista, Excite etc.. A Web Ring is a way for related web pages to be linked together so that visitors may visit pages on the same topic by simply clicking to the next page. Yes, you can get a list of the pages in the Web Ring, but you can not search the pages within the Radio Scanner Web Ring for a specific topic outside of scanners.
To add your page fill out the form below.
Qualifications
Site MUST be related to radio scanners.
Site MUST contain content such as LOCAL frequency lists, channel plans, codes etc., not just a list of links to other sites. ANYBODY can take and make a page with links to online scanners, Percon search site, etc.. SITE MUST HAVE LOCAL CONTENT! ! ! THAT YOU, YOURSELF HAVE CREATED! NOT LINKS TO SOME OTHER SITE.
Commercial sites selling scanners and/or scanner related items will be reviewed for consideration. The WebRing Owner reserves the right to determine if a commercial site meets the qualifciations to be in the WebRing. Examples: scanner software such as WinTone, ScanCat, hardware such as Optoelectronics OS-535 etc..
Sites which are nothing but link pages will BE REMOVED from the Ring!
Sites may NOT have password protected pages of any type.
Member sites MUST display the Radio Scanner HTML code on their page, and on the page pointed to in thier listing.
Your site information MUST include an email VALID email address reachable by email from GeoCities (oocities.com). Sites with email addresses which block out GeoCities (oocities.com) will be REMOVED.
ALL GeoCities sites MUST install the GeoGuide on the page that the Radio Scanner Web Ring HTML points to for your site. GeoPopUps will NOT BE TOLERATED on Radio Scanner Web Ring Sites. These cause problems with the Radio Scanner Web Ring code, your co-operation & understanding in this matter is greatly apperciated.
Any site which offers the choice of a banner similar to the GeoGuide over a "pop up" window must be used, unless this matter is totally outside your control, such as TriPod.com hompages.
NO SITE WILL BE PERMITTED TO USE the "Moving Scanner" GIF file that appears on numerous sites, and may or may not have orginated from "Stupid Scanner Tricks Page" by Richard Barron. The Radio Scanner Web Ring has been contacted about this situation, and must ask that ALL SITES NOT USE this GIF file for any reason. Again, your co-operation & understading in this matter is greatly apperciated.
This form submits your site to the queue, for review by the RingMaster. After determining your site is of a radio scanner nature, you will be added to the ring.
After your site is added to the ring you will receive email with the HTML code to add & graphics for the Radio Scanner Ring. (I am working on getting a Radio Scanner Web Ring Logo Made)
You MUST ADD the HTML code sent to you via email to your page ASAP. This is how visitors navigate from site to site. You will need to ALTER the code to INCLUDE YOUR SITE ID #, YOUR NAME & EMAIL address. These are clearly marked in the HTML code sent to you via email.
Sites will be added within 24 hours. Please add the HTML Code to your page as soon as possible after being added to the ring so that visitors make click thru using "Next" & "Previous".
Sites will be added to the ring at the END of the ring and in NUMERICAL ORDER of submission. The RingMaster reserves the right to re-order the ring in the future.
