W.P.D.L. Summer Write-Ups

Week 1

Salt Division:

Lou shot LIGHTS OUT at Charles Inn. That's right, he was so good the lights went out thus a match was suspended since these guys are good enough to shoot in the dark. I mean come on, I've seen the sheets, most guys on those teams shoot like they have their eyes closed anyway! Yes, even you Keith. Next the Smalley's Convicts beat up on the “B” team, oops I mean “C” team from Southside known as the Rocks. Well they got rocked 14-4 by Conor “A” Joyce and his crew. Red Mill's Foxes had the bye, which was good because that meant Dennis couldn't lose this week.

Pepper/ketchup Division:

Well I'm cranky. 17 teams sign up. Most of you can figure out 1`7 does not a schedule make. Not without some teams having two byes in 7 weeks which is unacceptable. So first I call everybody and their mother to see if we can get another team somewhere. Nobody bites, which is understandable since its summer and all. So then I sit down and create, manually mind you, a schedule between Pepper and Ketchup so that all teams play somebody, even if its twice in 7 weeks, I figure its better than a bye week. 18 hours later I've check, rechecked, and finally come up with the schedule as it currently exsists. Why tell you all of this? Well b/c our good friends down at Playoffs signed up two teams having only enough bodies to fill one team, thus a forfeit/bye week for somebody. And making all my work useless. I could have had two divisions of 8, north and south, milk and cookies, black and white, nice, neat, no byes, schedule takes 2 minutes to create and everybody is happy. Instead I've got this mess. All I've got to say is next time, my good organized friends at Playoffs, instead of throwing away 55 bucks on a ghost team, buy me a burger and a beer at signups and you'll save money. That's my rant for the week. Let's move on.

Week 2

Salt Division:
In the Salt division this week Smalley's Convicts hosted Tina's Rednecks and won 11-7. Somebody named Yo-yo had a Ton for Tina's and the Smalley's crew threw 9 marks in the win. Southside Rocks played the other Tina's team, Fruit Salad and lost 13-5. Either nobody threw all stars or none were recorded. Red Mill's Foxes played at Charles Inn and Dennis got lucky; lucky he didn't have to play Big Lou. Last week Lou shot the lights out at Charles. Although Bruce us no slouch either, big Dennis did manage to get 1 win outta 3 while throwing 4 Tons. Northwood's had the BYE.

Pepper/ketchup Division:
The End Zone Broken Flights had the (Playoffs) BYE. End Zone Last Call played the Sunset House and lost 17-1. But wait upon closer examination, Sunset used 2 illegals in each set which means they give back 6 points to End Zone. Every week will be the same guys. Southside Real Friends With Benefits played the Spruce Hill Spinners who can't figure out who captain is, first Rich, then Phil, now George. Oh well anyway a teammate of mine, Jamie Rossi showed up there and threw a C6 and B3 while winning 2 out of 3 but losing the night 11-7 in favor of Southside. For Janet's team, Cesare, Mike and Allen all threw all stars. End Zone Most Wanted is sort of a grab bag of AJ's, Fulgums and End Zone. Its working however as they beat Southside Junkyard Dogs 12-6. For Southside, Chuck and Tim threw B-3s and Sean and Fred threw Tons. Rich “I need some good players for the fall” Sauther threw a T38 and C6 in the win. End Zone Outlaws played the one and only team from Playoffs and lost 14-4. Steve Noll drifted down from Red Mills to throw a B3 for End Zone, as did the Captain Robbi herself. For Playoffs Spring 06 Men's MVP threw 2 Tons and a C6 and Darnell chipped in a C6 and Ton.

Remember you must play 4 weeks to be trophy and playoff eligible! Bye weeks count has a week played.

Week 3

Salt Division:
Northwood's Inn played Charles Inn this week and won 10-8. The only all star was Vincent throwing a T16 for Charles Inn. By the way Jason, I've only gotten week 3 from you, where is week 1? Tina's Rednecks played Tina's Fruit salad on Sunday and Tina's won 12-6. Does it really matter which one won? Southside got Rocked by the Red Mill's Foxes 12-6. Looks like Deb's team could have used Luke Jace to help out. Anyway Dennis was showing off again throwing a C6 and B3 in singles and then sneaking in a T in doubles when his alter ego, Evil D, played with Evil Robin.

Pepper/ketchup Division:
End Zone Outlaws destroyed End Zone Broken Flights 17-1. Dutch made an appearance in league competition, nice of him to join us. Esti B had the only loss to another Steve. Hope you all got your drinks from Noll. Southside Junkyard Dogs doubled up the Southside Real Friends With Benefits team 12-6. Sandy and Janet hit Tons for their teams respectively. End Zone Most Wanted played End Zone Last Call and beat em 13-5. Harry and Bob each went 2 for 3 in the win. Sunset House Flower Power played Spruce Hill Spinners and won 10-8, this week they only used ONE “A” player too many which means 3 points go back to the Spinners for their 11-7 win. Playoffs had the BYE against themselves.

Remember you must play 4 weeks to be trophy and playoff eligible! Bye week's count has a week played.

Week 4

Salt Division:
Big Lou and his crew took it on the chin this week as Charles Inn fell to Smalley's Convicts 14-4. Again, no all stars written down. Northwoods and Southside Rocks battled to a 9-9 tie. Jim Costello of Fiddler's fame had B3-C6 and a Ton. Dennis Fox and his band of Merry Men continue their assault on the standings with a resounding 15-3 win over Tina's Rednecks. Dennis continues to show off with a Ton and 3 wins.

Pepper/ketchup Division:
End Zone Broken Flights and Spruce hill Spinners played to a 9-8 score for EZ. 9-8 you say? Each only had 5 players. But RoboCop did return, Rich if you read this, call me on the dart phone. End Zone Outlaws fell to the Junkyard dogs from Southside 11-7. Wendy, Mike, Fred and Tim all hit marks for Southside and End Zone got ones from Esti B and Jesse. Harry and Bob couldn't carry the Most Wanted Team from End Zone as they lost 11-7 to the Playoffs Combo Kings. Southside Real Friends with Benefits put a beating on End Zone Last Call and won 16-2. Janet's crew only allowed one loss in Doubles Cricket. Sunset Flower Power had the BYE, so no points taken away this week!

Remember you must play 4 weeks to be trophy and playoff eligible! Bye week's count has a week played.

Week 5

Salt Division:
Big Joe Suraci made his return to the league as Smalley's played Tina's Fruit Salad. Get your team going again Joe, welcome back. Anyway the Tina's Fruities put a hurt on Smalleys' first place standing by beating them 10-8. Northwood's traveled south to Red Mills and played a Foxes team with an eye towards the prize- lame summer trophies! Anyway for Red Mills Chris Garcia threw a T80 in the 10-8 win that put them in 1st. Charles Inn with ALL SORTS of power problems got beat by Southside 12-6. Hey Lou, instead of shooting “lights out”, perhaps you should throw better and “light up” the board. Tina's Rednecks had the bye.

Pepper/ketchup Division:
All four End Zone teams played each other this week and surprisingly the score was the same in each match, Most Wanted and the Outlaws each won 13-5. The Outlaws had a better night tho as they did it with 5 players. Nice! The Junkyard dogs from Southside played at Spruce Hill Spinners. Jim for SS had a good night going 2-3 with a T and B3. Jamie Rossi from Spruce dragged Debbie out and even made her play a game! For the Sunset House “A” team, Bud threw a T80 in the 11-7 loss to Playoffs Combo squad. JP Bouvier hit a T27 OUT in the win.

Sign ups August 12, 12-3pm at End Zone.

Remember you must play 4 weeks to be trophy and playoff eligible! Bye week's count has a week played.

Week 6

Salt Division:
Well the big show down is happening in week 7 as Red Mills Fox Trot plays at Smalley's convicts for the Salty title. Not sure why I wrote that since this goes out after the match will have been played. But I digress. Anyway Smalleys tied Northwoody peckers 9-9 last week as Big Jason was a no show again! Conor should take his squad to “A” where he belongs! Tina's Rednecks took it on the chin as they lost to the Southside Rox team 13-5. My girl Katrina hit a big T20, that's all that really matters. It is important to know ones place in the universe as Dennis Fox recently did. Dennis playing with his lovely wife in D501 promptly hit a Ton looking to take pressure off his novice wife…well her very next turn, she hit a mere T01. Not to show Dennis up mind you, just to let him know she is 1 point better. Not matter what he does; she will always be 1 point better. Of course, it goes without saying she must be an Angel married to Dennis for 20 years! Probably only feels like 30 tho huh?

Pepper/ketchup Division:
Okay I mistaken gave Playoffs a point deduction last week b/c I thought they were supposed to call in, my bad. So I gave myself a 1point deduction instead to make up for it. (Dave - 1pt for being an idiot.) Anyway Sunset House Flower Power played Spruce Hill and won 15-3, well make that 9-9 anyway. John if you Not be allowed to play next summer if this is the way it will be, it defeats the whole purpose of Summer darts. Moving on….A 5 man Last Call from End Zone lost 14-4 to Southside Junkyard Dogs, Chuck, Tim, Sandy and Sean all threw well. The Broken Flights from End Zone picked up Sherrie and it's too little too late for you guys, Sherri from the beginning would have put ya in 1st place but alas, not to be. Janet Horny, er I mean Horner was down 10-2 before sweeping the last three games for a 10-8 loss. Nice job! Tara, a team with three big “A” players in Harry, Bob and Dave need s to win by more than 2. Oh well keep your powder and your boots dry.

Sign ups August 12, 12-3pm at End Zone.
