On the surface water roams
What is there to say?
Streams of foam
And busy pools
Light of night and day
Mud and light
And a long dark night
Sunrise gone astray
Why does water roam the Earth
Whistling in the dark?
9
The blue rain falls
On sleepy earth
And into wells unknown
The smell of dirt in rain so fresh
Dusty tales of dusty winds
Spring of life unborn
In silver notes
The rivers roar
In laughter so insane
As water, water everywhere
Shall rise to fall again
10
Echoes
of forgotten winds
Water on a stone
Birds and songs and tall lean trees
Standing all alone
Wounded skies and dripping leaves
Falling on the ground
Die without a sound
Why do winds
Who shepherd clouds
Squander rain away?
