Topic: Section or breakout view of an assembly

I would like to know how to create a section or breakout view of an assembly. I know I have to use a scene and a cut or breakline but I don't know where to create these cutting lines. Thanks for your help.

if all parts are external, you need to create a local dummy part to be able to create a cutting line.

To follow up to what Leo said (at the risk of over stating the obvious), if you have a local part you can use it to create the cut line - it doesn't have to be on the part as you can drive the position of the cut line by the parametric dims. Of course if the part moves, so will the cut line, and in this case it may be better to create a dummy part to hold only the cut line, and then constrain it to a major (or better yet grounded) component.
The cut line is created in the "model" mode, not scene mode (just in case you weren't sure).

I already use this method of a dummy part but this dummy part appear in my part list.
How can I remove it from my part list or make it invisible.

On March 28th, I posted an example to Customer Files. Click on this. link link to get it.

To add to the others, create the dummy part as suggested, create a polylinein model space, create a sketch plane, add the polyline to the sketch byselecting the menu Part > Sketch Solving > Cut Line, then constrain as suggested.
