* AUTOCAD TIP: DIMENSION TEXT YOUR WAY To manually place dimension text in AutoCAD 2000 and LT 2000 and on, you can change the setting for the DIMUPT system variable. By default, the variable is on, and dimension text is positioned automatically. To turn it off, type dimupt at the Command line, then type in Off at the prompt. You can also go to Format / Dimension Style / Modify / Fit and under Fine Tuning, select Place text manually when dimensioning.
