Steve's "Gorgeous" Page!
This is Steve as a tiny hatchling...
Baby Steve...at 17 inches...
Steve is just a little baby right now, not too long ago he was still an egg! Steve is the same kind of snake as Rosco (corn snake), just a different color. He is a color morph called Ghost. This means the center of his spots are fading. Steve has now graduated from pinkie mice (newborns) to fuzzies (or half grown baby mice).
Steve was named after Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter. For those who don't know who that is, where have YOU been??? Steve even has an action figure in his cage of The Croc. Hunter! For now Steve is in this small cage because baby snakes are expert escape artists (as we found with Rosco). He will not be able to graduate to a big cage until he's too big to squeeze through the cover!
*Australian accent...* "By crikey! It's a giant 15 foot corn snake! What a beauty!"
*Update!* 3-17-02
Steve is now 20 inches long...I hope we can find room for a bigger cage soon! Also, the last time he shed he started getting faint yellow coloring on the tip of his nose and running down both sides about a fourth of the way down his body. What a pretty boy he's going to be :)
