This game is one of my all time favs.
It is an older game so it doesn't have those really cool graphics.
But that's not the point of this kick ass game. In this game you have
3 opptions. Play the missions, which are not the best. Play
one on one with the computer. Or play online. PLAY IT ONLINE. Its the
best. When i played i had joined a clan called GFC( god father
clan) and we had some great fighters and some not so much. We weren't
the best clan but we had the highest respect of all clans.
Its a realy fun game to play online.
This game brings the action of shooter games with that of strategy.
You cant win against a human online if you don't have skillz. And when
you play 3 on 3. Then you need strategy. Ok heres the diffrence of playing the computer compaired to that of the real thing. A computer is predictable. A human is not. The varients( custom load of a surtin mech ) already set up in the game is fine for fighting a computer. But not a human. the mechs in the game have bairly any good weapon out fits or armor placment. leaving you vulnerable. to be killed fast. Down below in the online tips section i will tell you what you need to know about setting up a good mech for online play. |
2) There is a heap load of weapons, and the freedom to set up your mech the way you want. with surtin restrictions. 3) When you are in a one on one with the comp, you can set up the scenario the way you want. 4) you have to love the controls. not so many you get lost in your keyboard. but you get control of what you need when you need it. 5) Online play is easy to set up. (Mplayer) 6) And you can copy other peoples mechs Ill tell you how in the next section! This rates a 10 of 10 on my awesome SH*T O meter

OK there are 6 Very important steps in setting up a mech. 1) picing your mech. depending on what your comforteble piloting. Each mech has its limits. a stormcrow can only handle so much compaired to a Direwolf. We will say that you have chosen a timberwolf. It is the best mech. OK now you have to totaly clear out all weapons, and heat sinks. 2) Go to your armer section and fill up the mech full with Ferro Fibrosis. Then set you side torsos to full with at least 11 for the back, the front will come out to what ever it comes out to. Now for the central torso, set your back to 16, Basicly you want to have 2/3 front and 1/3 back. 3) Now go and get at least 3 jump jets. any less and they wont be able to move you fast enough. You can have up to five in most mechs. 4) Now for the weapons. This totaly depends on what kind of weapons you want. And the fighting conditions your taking this maech under. I like to go full out with small and medium lasers. Most online junkies will fight C1, meaning all lasers. Now the types of weapons all have there goods and bads. small and medium lasers are great, dont matter on what type. large lasers hurt more but take to long to reacharge and are to hot. LRM's are heat seakers or lock ons and there are SRM's <-- not so good. missles are great but you have to deside on wich one 5 10 15 or 20, meaning the amount in one spread. and the other thing is your amo . Next there are mashine guns, no heat. light. easy to work with but don't cause to much damage. Now there is the next step up. the Gause cannon and the WHAT I LIKE TO CALL THEM, the asualt rifles. Gause cause much damage, lots lots lots. but realoade slow and weigh a ton. and the ASUALT RIFLES are very bad boys. but wiegh much also, and need alot of amo. There are a few other weapons but when you get your load out you have to keep the weight down. A mech can only hold so much weight. At this piont you should still have atleast 9 tons left, if you are making a C1 even more. there is a reason and here it is. 5) Heat Sinks, they are what keeps you core temp down. with out them or to less your mech will over heat and you will be destroud. Take that last bit of weight and get as many double heat sinks as you can. 6) Now that you have the load out of crap you want in your mech you have to destribute it out through out your mech. Meaning do you want a ferro fibrosis in you head or a laser. hears the ketch. you only have so much room in each part of your mech. your head only has one spot but some weapons need up to 5 spots. destribute your parts wisely. Do Not put all the heat sinks in one area, what if that area gets mangled. your done for, And dont put a weapon that has amo all in one place. Put the gun in one place and the amo in other places. and put the jets in your legs. Its a good idea. Ok newbie. im not gona tell you any more cause most else you need to learn from experience. Good luck in your designs and battles. :) |
