History: Chance Robichaux grew up as the only child of a prominent New Orleans politician. He was pampered and spoiled all his life, as he was groomed for a life in the spotlight. As he grew into his teens, he began to resent the constant scrutiny of his life, and began to rebel. He started comitting small crimes, then moved on to bigger things, most notably..arson. He set fire to abandoned buildings, trees, whatever he could. All of his crimes were covered up by his father. One night at the age of 18, Chance was in his attic mixing some chemicals to but in a molotov cocktail, and he got them too close to a flame and they exploded, throwing him out of the attic window, and setting his house ablaze. He passed out, and when he woke up, his house and his family were burned away. He realized his father wasn't going to save him this time, so he ran. He ran into the city, and began to fight for everything he needed.

After two years on the streets, Chance was now a skilled street fighter and a master pickpocket. Anything he needed, he either stole or fought for it. Then one day, fate played its trump card on this young man. As Chance sneaked up behind an old man one day, and reached into the man's pocket. The man then proceeded to beat the high holy hell out of Chance. Then, having pity on him, realizing that he was homeless and alone, the old man, whose name was Giovanni "Johnny" Medici, brought Chance into his home. It was there that Medici, an Itallian immigrant, taught Chance how to live like a normal person. Medici owned a small restaurant, and he paid Chance to clean it. In addition, he gave him room and board. Six months passed and Medici decided to offer his now twenty year old live in a chance to learn Medici style combat, a system developed and perfected by him. It combined Chance's natural strength and size, and street fighting skills with pro wrestling moves, judo's momentum swings, and jeet kune do's creativity. For the next five years, Medici and Chance grew closer and closer and their relationship blossomed into that of father and son. Griffin became the master of this unique form of combat, and he and Medici opened up a small dojo to teach others. One day, during a routine sparring session, Johnny Medici suffered a stroke. As he lay dying in Chance's arms, he made Chance promise him to always live a respectable life and never forget what he was taught. Chance promised to do that, and also to spread Medici style combat to the world. And right there, in that dojo, in Chance's arms, his mentor and father died.

Chance closed the dojo while he considered his options. He decided to join the world of NHB fighting. He went on tour in The US and Japan for two years. He battled the best in the world and amassed a record of 55-3. When he finished that, he moved back to New Orleans and reopened the dojo. The 27 year old now began to teach students in the way that he was taught. Two years later, he decided to rejoin the ranks of the combat world, and decided this time on professional wrestling. He got an interview with AOW. On the night before his interview, he was contemplating his life, and how its ups and downs had affected him. He felt like a phoenix, the mythological bird that rose from the ashes of its own fire to be reborn. He also knew he was strong, powerful, and smart, just like a Griffin, the mythological beast with the head and talons of an eagle, but the body of a lion. So right there, on that night, Chance Robichaux, former criminal, former NHB fighting champion, and now professional wrestler beceme:
