Shawn Michaels Taking on Mick Foley at WMania It was recently hinted in an edition of the WWF Magazine that Mick Foley will be forced to wrestle to maintain his commissioner's post. It should be noted that when Foley officially retired earlier this year, he did not in any way rule out a return at a future date. From my understanding, the WWF and Foley fully believe that sooner or later (perhaps at Wrestlemania 2001), he will return in a final match sort of deal since he really did retire well before he was due. With Vince McMahon's representing his ill feelings towards Foley on Raw, it could be that Vince himself laces up the boots to take on Foley in a match where if Vince wins, he get to appoint a commissioner of his choice and if Foley wins, he will be able to remain as the WWF's booking king. When this happen (if it even does) is open to debate but as I just mentioned, with 52,000+ fans watching at Wrestlemania, the WWF will definitely want to stack the card. The magazine also threw in Shawn Michaels' name into the hat as possibly returning to the commissioner's role and I suppose if I want to cover all bases, I might as well suggest a match between Shawn and Foley, with it of course being the farewell match that HBK was never really given. Anyone who has been reading the WWF website over the past month or two will know that Shawn's name in retirement match so to speak has been bounced around a lot, with many WWF employees indicating that Michaels deserves a better sendoff than the one he received. If he is to return for a final match, you gotta believe that he'll have to come out on top. What sense would it make for him to return and put over an existing star? |
