Outlook - Steve Blackman's career began in the late 80s as part of the Stampede promotion. He was a powerlifting martial artist and seemed to have the potential to be a great star. Unfortunately, Blackman was striken with malaria while touring South Africa and it nearly ended his life and seemed to have ended his career. He tried to comeback, but it wasn't until 1997, eight years later, that he restarted his career. Blackman, although not as massive as he once was, started with a good push and stayed in a decent midcard role throughout the WWF's rise and was there during their peak. He enjoyed a heel run as a hired assassin, numerous pairings with goofy partners and several tenures as the Hardcore champion. A serious neck injury in 2001 sidelined Blackman again and he didn't resign. He now does martial arts and pro-wrestling training in Pennsylvania and pops up in the news here and there. While a brief return seems likely, returning to the full-time schedule is questionable.
