Outlook - In 2000, Ricky Marvin turned many heads in the pro-wrestling world as one of the shining stars in the third J-Cup. He had been kicking around Mexico since he was a teenage before CMLL brought him up. The following year was the J-Cup and Marvin’s stock took off. He became a regular on both sides of the Pacific at twenty. CMLL really got behind him for a stint and he had some excellent talent to work with. Being a gaijin and an irregular one at that prevented him from taking off in Japan. So, he moved there. Ricky Marvin moved to Tokyo and became a regular on the NOAH roster. While he was once an inconsistent worker with some of the most breathtaking highflying moves in the world, Marvin was able to take his game to a new level. Marvin and Kotaro Suzuki attempted to become a new version of Naomichi Marufuji & KENTA. The duo is more dynamic though not as solid. The injuries, the midcard stagnation and the lack of quality opponents that may have stunted his growth have been avoided for the most part and Ricky Marvin is developing into the pro-wrestler that many hoped he could become. Expect Marvin to continue improving in NOAH and perhaps make another huge career change. Whether it is a return to the hot Mexican scene or an attempt at the dull American scene, Ricky Marvin’s future is full of promise and opportunity.
