Outlook - As time passes the legacy of FMW is growing dimmer as its former stars move into the latter stages of their careers. On the indies in Japan, a handful of stars continue to go strong and Yoshinori Sasaki is perhaps the best example. A former sumo loser who loved FMW, Sasaki was unusual in FMW as a native big man in a company that heavily relied on gaijins in that role. While WMF gave him a push, it was BJW that helped him take his game to the next level. He became Mammoth Sasaki, the big man on the roster, who bashed people's heads in with chairs. BJW veteran Shadow WX tagged with Sasaki and the youngster really elevated his stock on BJW's "Deathmatch Wars" TV show. Mammoth Sasaki is now in his early thirties and probably in the first stages of his peak years. Although he is not the biggest wrestler in Japan, he is large for the indies and plays his role perfectly. He has refined his style, he bumps sparingly, he sells just as he should and he lays in a convincing beating. While it could be argued he has limited himself in terms of stepping into a bigger promotion, his work is good enough to do so, although his dominance would not fly. Mammoth Sasaki seems content in his current spot and considering the weakness of the puroresu scene, he will likely stay put and continue be the proverbial big fish in a small pond.
