Outlook - In the mid-90s, Big Japan was making a move to become a recognized death match company alongside
FMW and IWA. They had a number of chubby kids coming up through their ranks and Satoru Shiga was one of those. He was in
his mid-twenties and alongside youngsters like Seiji Yamakawa, Tomoaki Honma and Takashi Uwano worked with the veterans in
Big Japan to help build the company up. By the late 1990s, Shiga had transformed into Shadow WX, a lumpy big man who wore
street clothes and makeup like Mr. Pogo before him. He helped reinvent death match wrestling by showing barbed wire, nails,
glass, thumbtacks and so on can fit into well-worked matches. The style took its toll on Shadow and he slowly moved into
the background during the infamous feud with CZW. He mainly works with up-and-comers in tag teams and has been successful
in that role and will probably continue in that spot for the foreseeable future.
