Outlook - A former rugby star, when Kenzo Suzuki came into New Japan, he
instantly had marketability. Suzuki was treated very well early on, but quickly was brought
down to pay his dues. While it seemed he was a future ace, he just did not improve as much as
he needed to. He jumped to World Japan and it was more of the same - a big push with no payoff.
Then the WWE signed him and planned one of their most controversial gimmicks to date,
thankfully they scrapped it, but they still brought in Suzuki and his wife Hiroki playing
stereotypical Japanese characters. Suzuki has largely turned into a big fall guy and his wife
was more over than he was. Since being released, the duo have become central figures in the
HUSTLE promotion, although Kenzo is still trying the improve his stock. He is charismatic and
has a good look, but hasn't improved much when given opportunities. With the departure of
Tajiri, there are no token Japanese wrestlers in the WWE, so maybe Kenzo Suzuki will get a
chance if he continues to pursue employment there.
