Place in History - Dos Caras is the total package in regards to lucha libre. For starters, he was the brother of one of the biggest stars in lucha libre history - Mil Máscaras. Mil's meteoric rise gave Dos some opportunities that he might not have otherwise. Secondly, he was a top notch worker, so when he was able to seize the opportunities he was afforded. Lastly, Dos Caras had the persona and appeal to be a top star. Throughout the 1970s, Dos Caras was one of the major stars who often filled in while his famous brother was touring the world. He and El Canek were the premier heavyweights in the country in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their ability to work a faster paced match as heavies got over big and established their respective legacies in Mexico. Dos Caras also was able to enjoy several tours of Japan, where he made a name for himself due to his excellence. Although Mil Máscaras had the charisma and name, Dos Caras was the superior worker and consistantly had very good matches. Even in the mid-1990s, when he was part of the second Super J-Cup, Dos Caras, in his mid-40s was able to put together some great matches opposite some of the best young talent in the world. Although his brother often claims the fame, Dos has a solid legacy that was never dampered with selfishness and poor performances. His son has made a name for himself and that has helped further the family's notoriety in current lucha libre.
