Place in History - "Superstar" Bill Dundee was a unique character in the wrestling world as one of, if not the smallest top star in the wrestling world in the late 70s and early 80s during his peak years. He was a charismatic bumper without much of a build or look, but in Memphis he was capable of being a star. In many ways his skills mirrored the "King of Memphis," Jerry Lawler's and so it made sense that he was able to get over as a top babyface and heel. As the former, he was something of a highflyer (for his day) and was programmed right with the right people. As the latter, he was a stalling coward who cheated and ran his mouth. Unfortunately the qualities that made him a good babyface in his day dissolved with time and he spent his latter years as a heel.
