Place in History - The eldest son of the 60s and 70s star Boris Malenko, Joe became one of the most gifted scientific workers of his day. While he never found much success in the US, Joe got a break in the early 80s with the UWF. While he never got a break there really, he made a good showing and was soon a undercard star for All Japan. The ever-present junior, Joe had a long-running feud with Masanobu Fuchi and frequently tagged with his younger brother Dean. While he was considered amongst the slickest mat workers by smart fans, Joe Malenko remains known to American fans as Dean's brother and little more. Regardless Joe Malenko's work with All Japan stands up very well as the best mat-based junior matches of that period and some might argue ever.
