Place in History - One of the few wrestlers in history who's instant rise to fame was after his best years. After years as an acrobatic prelim wrestler, Morales finally got a big push out West, which was even bigger when he was Bruno Sammartino's successor in the East. While bigger than Bruno in New York, Morales was far behind in outside markets, namely Boston. After losing the belt his stock dropped even more quickly causing him to roam North America with semi-regular returns to the WWWF. Neck-and-neck with Carlos Colon as the biggest Puerto Rican star, Morales was a huge draw in New York and Colon never got off the island. Morales was never a top flight worker or even an entertainer on the caliber of Sammartino or Hogan, but he had his place and did well for himself in the 70s.
