Place in History - Wrestling produces so many colorful characters it can be hard for people to stand the test of time. Having a lasting influence in pro-wrestling is just so difficult that only a select few have achieved. While you have your Flairs who only do it in the sport, then your Hogans and Pipers who branch into movies, but only one man of note has successfully moved onto great fame through American politics - Jesse "The Body" Ventura. A jack-of-all-trades, after a stints as a Navy Seal, a biker, a wrestler and a movie star and Ventura was able to shock the world by becoming the Governor of Minnesota. While that is his real claim to fame, Ventura's contributions to pro-wrestling should not go unacknowledged. A direct ripoff of "Superstar" Billy Graham, "The Body" had the same strengths and weaknesses. His interviews were amongst the best in his day, in fact he was able to make the transition to color commentary better than most. Jesse Ventura was certainly a below average worker and his in-ring career was relatively short due to medical problems, but his charisma made him stand out for sure. One of the most fascinating figures to ever take part in pro-wrestling, Jesse Ventura is one of a kind.
