Outlook - Akitoshi Saito had been around for some time, not doing a whole lot in Japanese indies and an undercarder in New Japan. After a two year hiatus, Saito made a shocking return to NOAH in its first year. He was kind of at a loss in NOAH's early shows, simply a bigger midcarder that always went over. After hooking up with top star Jun Akiyama, Saito found a niche as a tag wrestler. The tandem compliment each other well and are one of Japan's better tag teams because of that. NOAH worked to make him a regular title challenger, but he is not a legitimate contender for sure. His persona and style are over, he can contribute well and can work main events as a supporting character. In his early forties and on a comfortable plateau, Akitoshi Saito has a few more years left in him to work as a solid midcard with some tag team pushes.
