Outlook - Takashi Sugiura had all the potential in the world when NOAH used him on their big "Grand Voyage" show. While he was obvious a little green, he had a convincing amateur style (coming from his strong background) and in the next year his game elevated quickly. Sugiura was in his thirties when most are in their twenties and it seemed as if he might be too old to become much. While his size and style were good in NOAH, in conjunction they seemingly worked against him. Technically a junior, he's not particularly dynamic and his powerhouse moves don't get over like they did in the early 1990s. Sugiura was shuffled around a lot once he was a seasoned worker. He really hit his strides in tag teams with legit-type partners like Daisuke Ikeda and Yoshihiro Takayama. Sugiura seems to be in his prime years right now and is one of the most consistant talents on the NOAH roster. Although a run on top seems unlikely, Sugiura has become a great supporting cast member and could definitely be pushed as a tough challenger for anyone.
