Outlook - In 2001, Yoshihiro Takayama was in his mid-thirties, he had spent years as a stiff big man in the UWFi and All Japan often teaming with more over partners. He was the lesser half of Team No Fear with Takao Omori, who everyone thought would be a top dog in the new NOAH. Takayama was big and tough, good pro-wrestling fodder for Pride. It was a gamble that hurt many pro-wrestlers, but made Yoshihiro Takayama. After headlining Pride in spirited battles with top fighters, he became one of the biggest crossover stars in Japan. Takayama returned to pro-wrestling a hero and was given top slots there as well. A better worker than fighter, Takayama's size and style made him the top heavyweight until a severe injury nearly ended it all. After some time off to recuperate from years of pushing himself hard, Yoshihiro Takayama has reemerged. Now in his forties, the blond giant is comfortable in supporting role rather the top spot. Takayama still has a commanding presence and an exciting style that will keep him strong as long as he can fulfill the expectations of him.
