Outlook - Shortly after the millenium shift, eyes on the US independent scene turned to the northern Midwest. The former home of the AWA, Minnesota was pumping out some talent youngster with real potential. A suprising contribution was female talent, which fed an interest in women's divisions in a number of indies. Two of the premier talents were Lacey and Rain, who often teamed as the Minnesota Homewrecking Crew. While Lacey eventually became one of the hottest indy talents, Rain was sort of left behind. Rain held steady in Shimmer and when TNA's Knockouts division began expanding, she got the call. As "Ms. Payton Banks," she replaced Traci Brooks as Robert Roode's valet and the two feuded. Despite having the potential to become a real solid heel for TNA, Banks was sort of phased out as other female heels were put over. While ahe does not have the model good looks of many of the TNA Knockouts, Banks has a sizable talent edge and the potential to be so much more than she has been. Perhaps the company will better utilize her when the limitations of the other talent begins to bog down the division.
