Outlook - Mike Knox was good independent prospect for a great number of years. He floated around the southwest making some headway in UPW, his home indy IZW and even touring Zero-One once. Knox had all tools it seemed to make it to the big time. He had good size, a decent build and a style that was simple but had some good points to it. He was a big guy who could hit an impressive tope suicida and played a roughneck babyface fairly well and badass heel even better. The WWE did indeed sign him up and he became one of the original stars in their Deep South Wrestling territory. He and old partner Derrick Neikirk were good talents on the indies. However, in Deep South Mike Knox was pushed hard, but his limited growth and repackaging made him a less attractive prospect than he had been. Regardless, the WWE brought him up as a top star in their debuting ECW brand. As the jealous boyfriend of Kelly Kelly, Knox was firmly established heel. She would promise to strip, but he would prevent her. That cheap heat helped him get a foot in the door, but he needed to get himself to the next level. Despite the push, the wins and the angles, Mike Knox's weaknesses ultimately shone through. He was quickly brushed aside and a second wave of "new" talent had their crack at the top, while Mike Knox waits for his next big break.
