Outlook - The Miz is one of the unique characters that have transitioned from a non-wrestling career to a wrestling career. Originally, Mike Mizanin left school to appear on MTV's The Real World in 2001. The former frat boy established himself with his wacky antics and became a reality TV star appearing on other seasons of The Real World, various MTV challenge shows, Bravo's Battle of the Network Reality Stars and even Fear Factor. It was on these shows that he developed his character, The Miz, which seemed perfect for pro-wrestling. After a stint in UPW, The Miz brought his act to WWE's reality series, Tough Enough. This fourth season was not like the others, but The Miz still got his act over and made it all the way to the finals where he lost a boxing match to MMA fighter Daniel Puder. Despite the loss, the WWE signed him up and he has worked like a dog in both of their developmental territories and on Smackdown. Although he is still a limited worker and many find his personality grating, The Miz has something special that the WWE is hoping to craft into a money-drawing element. For now The Miz is an undersized and underdeveloped cartoon character who has a wacky talk show, Miz TV, and yells "HooRah" to his so-called "Mizfits." It is a start, but he has a long way to go.
