Outlook - Randy Orton was a highly anticipated talent when he started in the WWF's developmental system in 2000. He was a capable youngster who was brought up in a time when the WWE was trying to hurry their developmentals into midcard spots. While Orton was ahead of some of his OVW peers and had a youth adavantage, he was thrown into sort of a sink-or-swim position. Despite his chiseled good looks, Randy Orton never really got over as a heartthrob like the WWE probably was hoping and he began floundering. Being an "up-and-comer" and a "third generation wrestler" was alright when getting started, but it became unclear if he would live up to his billing or if he would grow stagnant. After a botched face turn, Orton began having problems and many questions whether or not the WWE would release him. However, he regrouped and has been able to finally get in a top spot again as the arrogant heel he excels at being.
