Place in History - Similar to Bitsadze Tariel, Hans Nyman was a top striker in RINGS in its middle years. Tariel, the Georgian, represented Kyokushin Karate and Nyman represented Kickboxing and Holland. Since RINGS did not bring in American wrestlers and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters until later, Nyman was one of the few accurate representatives. While he was never pushed as hard as Dick Vrij, who largely filled the Kickboxing Dane role, Nyman was kept reasonably strong. He was one of the better pure strikers the company produced and a solid midcarder in the middle years of RINGS.
