Place in History - Yuuhi Sano's career is storied one indeed as he's done a little everything, working probably a greater variety of styles under his belt than anyone. After working the New Japan junior and lucha/lucharesu, Sano got involved with the UWFi. He jumped on board a bit late and was too small and unexceptional to get much of a push before the company went under. Sano's main involvement of note was the part he played in the UWFi-WAR feud, prior to the formation of Kingdom. In this lower level company, he shined more and when paired with the right people had some strong outings. He hooked up with the Takada Dojo and at 37 had his first shoot fight in the upstart Pride promotion. Following losses to Royler Gracie, Carlos Newton, amongst others, Sano finally withdrew from MMA competition and returned to shoot-style wrestling. This time with the dying BattlARTS promotion, where he enjoyed success for a while. But when the opportunity arose to work in the big leagues in the starting NOAH company, despite it being a more tradition style, Sano found a great spot there and clicked very well in it. Yuuhi Sano's place in shoot-style wrestling does not seem as great as many of his peers', but he definitely played a part in it and has accomplished more outside that world than nearly any of those same people.
