Two members honored at D.A.C.A. Banquet
The annual banquet, our
premier social event of the
year, attracted 165
members and guests to the
Feb. 21 gala. They enjoyed
excellently prepared
chicken and prime rib with
all the trimmings, and
danced the night away to
the music of The Left Bank
Sextet.
No gathering of the
D.A.C.A. is complete
without at least a little
business. President Frank
Horak thanked two
exemplary members for
their dedicated service to
the club for many years. He
presented a beautifully
engraved plaque to Larry
Hoffman, past director,
who did not seek reelection
for health reasons. Thanks
for making our club one of
the best in the country,
Larry.
If we're to continue on a
winning track, we need new
blood. For this reason,
Frank recognized Betty
Blocker as "Rookie of the
Year" for her dedicated
work with the table
reservations.
Joe and Mary Kay
Sheaffer were responsible
for conducting the silent
auction. More than 40 items
donated by club members,
gun show dealers and
businesses found their way
into the homes of persistent
bidders. Congratulations
and thanks to all who
helped raise in excess of
$1,400 for charities.
Merrill Womack was MC
and door prize person. Two
pistols, a rifle and a shotgun
caused tense moments as
door prize ticket holders
waited to hear their number
called Other prizes included
the Cold Book, several
copies of Colt 1911
Pocket Pistols and autographed
copies of Safe Not Sorry.
Liz Shea won the first prize to
be drawn, a Browning shotgun.
The second prize went to Wolf
Bambach who selected a
Winchester rifle chambered for
.270he had a choice of the
Winchester or a Browning bolt
action hunting rifle chambered in

caliber Colt target pistol. The
final winner had a choice of the

States Firearm Manufacturing
.45 Caliber, single action
revolver with a 5.50 inch or a
