Who are the best candidates are for the 1999 board? With the elections being on Dec. 14, the time to decide who our leaders will be is upon us.
To help you decide how to cast your vote, you might consider the club's priorities. Think, "Who are the people who can help carry us forward in our programs and help the club grow as an important presence in the gun collecting world?"
Following is a description of our organization and its purpose. Use it to help select the new officers.
D.A.C.A.
The Dallas Arms Collector's Association, Inc. was founded in February 1975 and is incorporated as a nonprofit organization. We are affiliated with he National Rifle Association.
The club has three classes of members: voting members, associate members and youth members. The number of voting members is set at 250. Most of our members live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but we have members located in many parts of Texas, and some reside in other states.
The D.A.C.A. is dedicated to promote friendship among those people who are interested in the collection of arms and their accessories. The club provides a means for members to locate, secure and exchange arms and to increase the members' knowledge of the history of arms and their values.
To achieve the above mentioned goals, the D.A.C.A. holds monthly meetings and sponsors five gun shows a year in Dallas. The club is also unflinching in its efforts to make a united stand in opposing legislation and activities which may be harmful to our second Amendment rights.
The D.A.C.A. is operated by elected officers and directors. See the box for a list of candidates for the 1999 board and be prepared to elect the people who you feel meet our club's mission and can help move us forward.
