A show of arms .

by Joe Wanenmacher, president National Association of Arms Shows

Gun shows usually fall into one of two categories:

1) Individuals (most are incorporated) with their own opinions and ways of doing things, and
2) clubs or organizations governed by a number of people with varying predetermined guidelines for their shows.

Regardless of your show's category, your needs must be addressed by our association.

Today, more than ever before in history, we are facing the possible loss of our industry, from the gun customer to the gun show producer. The faction on Capitol Hill which is trying to get rid of all guns is actively trying to destroy all gun shows.

In addition, current BATF practice is to pit FFLs against the unlicensed exhibitors at shows. They want us to turn in each other, much like what happened in Hitler's Germany. Our very survival is threatened.

How can we fight this threat? I urge you to put aside any real or imagined differences with other show producers and join us to provide a unified front to oppose the "gun grabbers" before it is too late. No longer can we squabble among ourselves about our differences. If we turn on one another we will be put out of business with only our nearsightedness to thank for our refusing to work together. We must come to common ground and stand shoulder to shoulder against those who would divide us and destroy our entire industry.
