The Write Stories

Good-Night

Jimmy: She opened up the window
To let in a little air
And looking within the mirror
She sits down to brush her hair

Christy: I find myself so restless
My mind gives no relief

Jimmy: When she stares at nothingness
I know she thinks of me
She gets ready for bed
her energy all spent
and fluffing up my one used pillow

Christy: This one's covered with his scent

Jimmy: She holds the little animal
On her bed she lays

Christy: The last gift he gave to me
Last Valentine's Day
I feel so sad and lonely
My prayers God don't hear

Jimmy: To have me safely home with her

Christy: I Ache to have him near

Jimmy: Her mind can't help but wonder
When things had gone awry

Christy: What does his mind ponder?

Jimmy: God I wish she wouldn't cry

Scene 2

Jimmy: The radio's still playing
She should turn it off

Christy: Jimmy cant sleep with the music on
I should turn it off

Jimmy: But I'm not there.

Christy: But he's not here
So it can play on softly while...

Jimmy: She's drifting off to sleep

Christy: The last thing saw is his sweet smile

Jimmy: I know she dreams of me

Scene 3

Christy: Dangers lurking somewhere near
I must alert him to the fact
Reaching out to wake him but...
The room is inky black
And HE'S NOT HERE!

Jimmy: What's wrong, baby?
Jumping with a start
I heard her call my name for help
Out there somewhere in the dark

Christy: I woke and cried out his name,
He never heard, he'll never know

Jimmy: How I want to dry her tears
Here where they echo in the cold
I wonder if she's sleeping?

Christy: I wonder if he's sleeping?
He could be thinking just of me right now

Jimmy: It's 3 am. She should be sleeping safe and soundv
Christy: He should be crawling out of his bunk
Should now be making his bed
And it's damn to early to have breakfast

Jimmy: Bread, and hard boiled egg

Christy: My baby, how I miss you
I hope you feel the love I send

Jimmy: Another day here in this place
I'll be around the loony bend
It's hard not to cry
But I'll keep it to myself

Christy: Staring at his pictures
Up upon the shelf

Jimmy: I wonder what she did today
How long will she be true?

Christy: My heart just beats to hear him say
"I want to marry you."

Jimmy: I want to make a life with her

Christy: I do so want his child

Jimmy: I want to make our dreams come true

Christy: I just want to see him smile!
And the next time he comes home

Jimmy: I can't wait to hold her so damn tight

Christy: Never will he go again,
Away out of my sight
I promised to be true to him

Jimmy: Will it be that hard to do?

Christy: I don't know where it is I end

Jimmy: Or where she's ending too

Christy: How do I tell him that,
In me he can believe
Trust will show both what we know

Jimmy: She's not planning to deceive

Scene 4

Christy: Memories in my mind

Jimmy: Holding her at night

Christy: In time we both will smile

Jimmy: So neither should us cry
Lay me softly down to sleep
Lay her softly too

Christy: No need to sulk with fitful weep

Jimmy: Baby I miss you

Christy: No more night mares for the night
I'll not call your name again
Pass the time with sweeter dreams

Jimmy: One long day that never ends

Christy: When I get him home to me

Jimmy: When I get home to her...

Christy: For now I shall pretend
pretend to hold him tight

Jimmy: to be home within her arms....

Christy: rest my love,
goodnight

THE TALE
visionsnvoices@hotmail.com

I thought it was dew or maybe diamonds
Glistening beside the bough.
I stooped to touch -
Elfin eyes curling up around my thoughts.
He had caught himself beneath a branch
And stirring nervously, thought to strike a bargain
With this one watching him.

He said, "If you'll help let me go
I'll tell the best of the tales I know."

"I'd like to hear your tales," I said,
"but tales or not, I'll let you go."

Caught now owing the great debt of kindness
He settled right in to spinning his yarn,
And he weaved his words in a spell
Around dragons taken in the dark of moon,
And warriors made bold in battle,
And kings and paupers and treasures well hid,
And then one of an elfin maid
Who lost her heart to a wandering man,
Slowly pined away for him.

Ah
This is the path that I'm to go
The tale of the trail has told me so.
Yes, I know you passed this way -
Someone else has pined away.

Puddles

moon blush
pleading (hush hush)
rippled reflections
hungering for connection
puddles with a never-ending deep
longing
sights set high
for a soothing soul to keep
rainbow tears
streak
as your scarlet sorrow spills
questions linger doubt
closed tight
wishing for anything else
wishing for a way out
an escape door to your soul
break you down
fill you up
make you feel whole
for all the bravado you can buy
can't hide a secret
can't cover a lie
forget about it
I can see it
I know you
it's all in those watercolor puddles
It's all in your eyes.

"Love Is..."
Troyae16

Love is this feeling in my body,
That will never go away.
It's this constant smile on my face,
When I think of you all day.
Love is my heart pounding hard,
When I know I will get to see you.
It's the thoughts in my head,
Knowing all these feelings are true.
Love is all the dreams I have of you,
Every single night.
It's this feeling in my body,
Always wanting to hold on you tight.
Love is the smile on my face,
When I hear a song that reminds me of you.
It's how fast my heart beats,
When I play them all 4 times through.
Love is how I feel,
When you tell me you love me.
It's this feeling of joy,
That makes me so happy.
Love is how I felt,
Since the first time we held each others hand.
Ever since that wonderful day,
You being with me has been my life's plan.
Love is when you said yes,
To that question I asked you that day.
We have had our problems,
But love will always keep me here to stay.
Love is when we were wrapped in each others arms,
Under the amazing sunset sky.
It's the first time we kissed,
I just thought I would die.
Love is when we talked for 6 hours,
Not wanting to let each other go.
It's me writing you these poems,
Because I love you and want you to know.
Love is a hard thing to explain,
But it is quite easy to see.
Its you being here,
Love is you being with me.
Love can be defined,
With one simple name.
It stands for Audra,
And that will always stay the same!

Images of the Night
Ai87

Twirling around in silver dresses,
The wind blowing through their golden tresses,
Crowns of roses atop their heads,
Diving head-first into the flower beds.
Rosy-cheeked fairies with sweet savory voices,
Smells of flowers show me worlds of choices.

Shadows creeping through the dark,
The sound outside of a wailing lark.
Mixing their potions and witches brews,
Poison apples and rancid stews.
Bubbling, cackling, hoarse, dry laughs,
Magic spells and dark witchcraft.

Playing harps and golden lyres,
Serenity to douse a thousand fires.
Angels flying through the sky,
Beauty that overpowers the minds eye.
Unicorns and creatures of old,
Alive only in stories told.
Riding the clouds like a gust of wind,
Thoughts ofevil will rescind.

Eerie castles from Medieval times,
Knights in bright armor,
With swords all a-shine.
Damsels in distress,
Swordsmen ready to impress,
For to them theres nothing less,
Than fixing up a mess.

Flying,twirling, catapulting through the sky,
The world is but a penny,
From the view up so high.
Shooting stars with twinkling glows,
A special place of which nobody knows.
Homes shadowed by the darkness,
Street lights small from so high up,
I fly into my window,
Whence I do yawn and wake up.
