Technology -- Lesson 5: Internet Search Engines

How do we find information????

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. From our school webpage, scroll down to the bottom where you see a list of common search engines
3. Click on "Google"
4. Look for the search box , & type "chicago" inside the box, then press the SEARCH button
5. Click on each link from the list of results, one at a time, to find a paragraph of important information about Chicago
Hint: Click the "BACK" button on the tool bar if the page you click on doesn't apply to your search.

6. Highlight the text by clicking at the beginning of the text and dragging your mouse to the end of the text.
7. After it is highlighted, click on "edit" off the menu bar, then choose 7. Minimize the Internet Explorer window by clicking on the little box w/two lines in the upper right corner. Then OPEN Microsoft Word. 8.
