The history of the TGO's goes back 4 seasons ago.
SEASON 1
The Great Ones first season was a rocky ride. In their 1st game they lost because they couldn't adapt to the rule changes and gave away many penalties. But they slowly settled and could now pull out victories. But all that was hampered as their two top scorers Sam Brianni and Reagan Koryozo both happened to break bones in their foot on the same weekend. Sam Brianni had snapped his shin after a accident at school while Reagan Koryozo
rolled his ankle outwards making a challenge for the ball in a game for the TGO's, a bone his ankle had broken off and required surgery.
But these injuries resulted in the TGO's bringing in replacements, Geoff Lippet, Robbie Lippet and a few fill ins like Vasili Georgiou. These were more than capable replacements as Geoff and his brother were state players and both contained ferocious shots.
Little Vasili Georgiou was very much in the mold of his older brother Kristen. They both may be little but will always put in a challenge. Vasili possessed fine skills and a great shot for a 11 year old.
In that season the TGO's went on to make the Semi-Finals but because players like Geoff and Robbie had not played enough games, they were not allowed to play. They were left short manned and only played the Semi-final with 4 men. They lost that match but considering all the factors, put up a great fight.
SEASON 2
During this season the TGO's showed great improvement. They would also be older and more experienced in indoor soccer after a grueling 1st season.
Although not dominating the early stages they hung in their keen to make a late charge. With results starting to fall their way they climbed up & up the table. Eventually to make the finals.
During this season striker Sam Brianni would make his return from a broken shin, while Reagan Koryozo would not be back until next season due to his ankle injury not healing in time.
Sam Brianni would find it hard to get back in to the pace, with his touch and fitness. But it didn't take long as the goals started flowing once again.
The TGO's were one of the younger teams at that stage of the season and would often take battering from their opponents, in terms of physical tackles, but the score board was a different story. They could still muster up wins.
But what they lacked in size and strength they made up in team work.
They had gone one step further then season 1. THE FINAL!!!
They lost this final but fought hard. They had the greater amount of chances but forgot one thing at home LUCK!!!
SEASON 3
The TGO's also greatly improved in season 3. They seemed more adapted to the pace needed as well as the skill which they possessed.
This season would see them rarely drop points only to tragically lose the final in Golden goal. They dominated the season and week after week pulled of a dominating performances.
This season would also introduce a derby game against fellow students at Norwood Morialta High School. The new team would be called 'Just Bring It'. The derby brought some passion into the league as players would put bets on the game, HEHE. In fact one of the players Jacob still owes Reagan $10. Now TGO forward Nathan Sette at the time played for Just Bring It but has made the transition over brilliantly.
After a lot of talk before the 2 games against Just Bring It, the TGO's silenced them with 11-0 and 13-1 demolitions.
In the 2nd of the these derbies was the return of long term injury victim Reagan Koryozo. He marked his return with a shot that cannoned of the post onto the back of the keeper and in.
The demolition would continue for the rest of the season until that tragic final.
In the final Brianni gave TGO's the lead only to see a penalty given to the opposition with 32 seconds remaining. Koryozo was the keeper who punched the ball out, the referee judged the ball to have been outside the box. Reagan still debates that the ball was in and that he was trying to get the ball moving quickly. Then more controversy as there was confusion over the penalty taker. Reagan claims that the player that placed the ball on
the spot was lining up as if to take it and then another player shot the ball with out him being ready.
In Golden Goal TGO's ran out of legs. They were also missing midfielder Tony Tantis for the game who couldn't come. A short man left them tired and in Golden Goal a shot that fizzed past Ocenasek sealed the TGO's fate.
They were left rattled by this loss and chose not to play for the next season.
SEASON 4
BUT THEY HAVE RETURNED FOR THEIR FOURTH SEASON.
NOW THEY HAVE A FULL TEAM.
THEY A HUNGRIER AND MORE DETERMINED THEN EVER.
AND THEY WANT JUSTICE.
