In anticipation of the year 2000 Olympic along with promoting table tennis, Wah Sing Table Tennis Academy presented a table tennis exhibition and a charity VIP competition on 23rd & 24th October 1999 at Market City, Haymarket. On the first day, there were demonstration of various tt skills by many ranked juniors via multiball practice conducted by coach Qiu and robot training. There was also provision for the public to participate in challenge matches with our junior members with prizes given out for the participants.

On the second day, many well-known Australian Chinese personalities participated in a fundraising VIP competition where the City of Sydney had kindly donated trophies. Two former Australian champions and Olympians - Katherine Kwok and Paul Pinkewich participated in an exhibition match. The Japanese Paralympics table tennis representatives also put on a demonstration.

The beneficiary charities were Australian Elderly Chinese Home and Australian Paralympic Committee. On Sunday 4:00pm, the Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor Lucy Turnbull presented the VIP champion trophy sponsored by the City of Sydney Council.
