Wah Sing Youth Team Tour of New Zealand
21 - 30 January 2000

WSTTA will be sending an elite youth team for a tour of New Zealand from 21 January 2000 to 30 January 2000. The tour will last for 10 days and covers visits to the South and North Islands. Places of visit include Christchurch, Nelson, Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland. As well as touring the country, WSTTA will be playing four friendly matches against representative teams from Canterbury Table Tennis Association, Nelson Table Tennis Academy, North Harbour Table Tennis Association and Auckland Table Tennis Association.

The touring party consists of Tony Lee (Team Manager and Coach), Charles Chau, Dereck Eu, Tony Bo and Adam Green. Each of the players has represented NSW many times over the years. They are the top four ranked youth players in our Academy as well as in NSW. The team is partly sponsored by WSTTA, Ms Selina Fung (Vice-President) and Geronimo & Associates.

WSTTA sees this tour as an opportunity to establish links with other overseas table tennis associations and give our young players a chance to make some new friends abroad and gain some valuable international match experience in preparation for the upcoming Australian Youth Open Championship. This is the first time WSTTA has sent a representative team overseas and it is hoped that more tours of this nature can be organised in the future.
