WSTTA Youth Team completed its 10- day NZ tour and returned to Sydney on 30 January 2000. The team played four friendly matches with four different table tennis associations in three different cities, namely Christchurch, Nelson and Auckland. WSTTA was undefeated in all the matches and achieved the following results:

North Harbour Table Tennis Association

Team manager and coach, Tony Lee was satisfied with the overall results. He stated that all the players in the team performed with credit despite a slow start to the tour. Charles Chau and Adam Green both won 15 out of their 16 singles matches. Charles Chau recorded a fine win against NZ's Peter Craven (No.2 in U21) and also defeated highly ranked Vincent Ho (No. 6 in U19), Adrian Soh (No.2 in U17) and Yi Sien Lin (No. 1 in U17). Adam Green had good wins over Paul Stewart (No.7 in U19), Vincent Ho, Adrian Soh and Yi Sien Lin. Auckland Table Tennis Association

All the players seemed to enjoy the tour as it was their first time in New Zealand. While the schedule was tight and the travelling at times tiring, the playing venues were excellent as all the associations had their own permanent table tennis centres. All the matches were played under friendly atmosphere. The team appreciated the hospitality of all the associations and all members had made new friends in New Zealand. At least two associations have expressed interest in return visits to Sydney. We look forward to them coming to visit us in the near future.
